Born and raised in tiny little town in the-middle-of-nowhere, Kansas, I began my Missouri journey after entering the School Psychology Doctoral program at MU four years ago. I completed my undergraduate studies in 2014 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, receiving my BA in psychology and BAS in Human Services with a minor in leadership. It was here that I found my love of working with children, particularly in schools. I had the opportunity to provide social-emotional services to students, with and without disabilities in traditional and non-traditional school settings. Coming up on my seventh year in the school sector, I have found a passion for working with students experiencing severe disruptive behaviors and mental health concerns. My areas of focus include prevention and treatment of adolescent emotional and behavioral disorders, student motivation, behavioral consultation models, and the use of systems level intervention to address problematic student behavior. Two years ago, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to develop and supervise a school-wide mentor program (MARS Mentoring) that continues to connect university graduate students with at-risk youth. Outside of work I enjoy participating in and watching sporting events. I will continue to [silently] cheer for my Kansas State Wildcats come Saturdays.
