About the Children Services Fund

On November 6, 2012, the citizens of Boone County passed County of Boone Proposition 1, which created a Children’s Services Fund for children and youth nineteen years of age or less in Boone County. The Boone County Children’s Services Board (BCCSB) has been appointed by the County Commission and entrusted to oversee this Fund. The Fund is created pursuant to RSMo §67.1775, RSMo §210.861, and the ballot language presented to the voters on November 6, 2012. Columbia Public Schools Take Two New Mental Health Initiatives

COLUMBIA – Columbia Public Schools is addressing the need for increased mental health services.

On Monday, the Columbia Board of Education listened to updates on two major mental health initiatives.

CPS will partner with the Boone County Schools Mental Health Coalition and SESI (Specialized Educational Services, Inc.) to provide additional resources for children with mental health and behavioral issues.

Director of Special Services Dr. Lou Ann Tanner-Jones said the need for mental health services and support has increased in the area. Continue reading
